"Little Ones to Him Belong"
Text: Matthew 18:1-20
Who are the "little ones" of Matthew 18? If we track with the text of Matthew 18, we see Jesus teaches that they are children (vs. 5), also they receive divine attention (vs. 10), and it is God's will that they should not perish (14). Who are they? Sometimes the children's songs say it the clearest and best. "Little ones to Him belong; They are weak, but He is strong. Yes! Jesus loves me!"
Those who are actually little, those who are new to the faith, those who trust with the "faith of a child" in God's love - these are all the "little ones." Some of us may not be all that little, anymore, but we all should cherish how it feels to belong in God's everlasting arms. As we cherish this, God puts in our hearts the desire to invite everyone around us so that everyone knows that they belong too.
