Pastor Andrew (Andy) Jagow

Pastor Andrew (Andy) Jagow was installed on February 4, 2007, as Bethany’s fourth full-time pastor. We thank God for choosing him to shepherd our congregation. Reverend Joseph B. Davis

Reverend Joseph B. Davis and his family came to Bethany from Maryland in 2004. On January 8, 2012, he was ordained and installed as Special Mission Pastor with emphasis on the African Immigrant Ministry (AIM). Reverend Davis is married to Aletha (shown in photo) with six children. He is very thankful for God's many blessings.

 
 

Kimberly Savage, Administrative Secretary

Kimberly Savage, Administrative Secretary, is the friendly voice who answers the phone and manages the Bethany Church offices, making sure everything runs smoothly. If you have any questions pertaining to the calendar, upcoming events, need to add something to the bulletin, or would just like some general information on the church schedule, she's the one to contact.

 

Paul Hersey, Music Director

Paul Hersey studied piano with Eloise Merrill in grades 3-12 at the Christian Academy in Japan, soloing with Kazuhiko Komatsu and the Tokyo Symphony Orchestra at the Tokyo Bunka Kaikan and Hibiya Public Hall before going on to study with Robert Weirichat Northwestern University and Eastern Music Festival. After earning a Bachelor of Music in Piano, he gave solo and chamber performances in the Midwest, the Fondation des Etats-Unis in Paris, Musashi Hall, and the Loy Henderson Auditorium. Since 2002 he has joinedin a series of world premier recordings on OgreOgress of works by Morton Feldman, Alan Hovhaness, and living composers.

He grew up singing sacred music at home,high school, college, and church. In 2018 a love of hymns led him to take up study of the organ with Timothy Duhr at the Potomac Organ Institute (POI), an introductory scholarship program for pianists generously organized by the Washington-area chapters of the American Guild of Organists.During this same period, he extensively observed the pedagogy, organ playing, and choir direction of Jeffrey Smith. After his POI graduation recital and service-playing certification from the Guild, he served at congregations in Virginia and Kanagawa.

His first stay overseas began in infancy thanks to his parents’ work with IM Inc. He has done coursework at the universities of Tours,Paris 3, and Salamanca;speaks Japanese, French and Spanish; and has learnedsongs in various languages by joining in worship services during trips abroad.
