2005 Golf Tournament an Ace
The Senior Youth Group went Mini Golfing Top Golf in Kingstowne on
Sunday, October 2, 2005. This outing was to benefit the Senior Youth
fundraising for Youth Conference in 2007, hurricane Katrina victims
and just plain fun. The youth asked friends and family to sponsor
them and also invited friends and family to join them for this event.
They met at and broke up into teams of 3 and 4 played mini golf.
There were even prizes for the best and the worst
score. After mini golfing most of them went out to dinner afterwards.
The weather was beautiful that day and the Senior Youth with their
friends and family had a great time. For more pictures of the event
look on Bethany’s
Youth bulletin board.

Bethany Encourages Participation in
the National Day of Prayer Friday, Sept. 16
President Bush has issued a proclamation declaring
Friday, September 16, a national day of prayer and remembrance
for the victims of Hurricane Katrina. The proclamation reads: "Hurricane
Katrina was one of the worst natural disasters in our nation's
history and has caused unimaginable devastation and heartbreak
throughout the Gulf Coast region. A vast coastline of towns and
communities has been decimated. To honor the memory of those who
lost their lives, to provide comfort and strength to the families
of the victims, and to help ease the burden of the survivors, I
call upon all Americans to pray to Almighty God and to perform
acts of service." Bethany members and friends are encouraged
to observe this day with individual and family devotions.

CHRISTIAN GIFT PLANNING
Bethany Lutheran Church
June 25, 2005, 5:30 p.m.
Continue Making Gifts After Your Death
• Have you ever considered establishing a "gift plan" that continues
your Christian giving after your death?
• The ministries that you support financially during your life may continue
to do their important work even after you have gone to heaven.
• By including a gift to these ministries in your "gift plan",
you display the Holy Spirit’s guidance in your life.
• You could include a gift in your will, trust, beneficiary designations
or other methods.
Gifts for Grandchildren
• Making gifts to your grandchildren in your "gift plan" can
be a wonder-ful way to teach Christian stewardship.
• The Lutheran Church--Missouri Synod Foundation can assist you with a
special charitable trust arrangement which can make gifts to your grandchildren
and make a gift to your favorite charities.
• Here’s an example of how it works: John and Edna make a provision
in their "gift plan" for $40,000 to go to the LCMS Foundation for a
charitable trust at their second death. Their trust will pay quarterly income
to their grandchildren for a 15-year period. Over the 15 years, their grandchildren
may receive a little more than $40,000 in payments. After the 15-year period
is over, the balance of the $40,000 in the charitable trust will be distributed
to their church and several of their favorite Lutheran ministries.
Are You Single?
• For those who have never married, many issues may come up when you consider
your estate plan.
• You may have heirs that you could give your estate to, but questions
come up as to the age of the heirs, what amount to give them, and how the inheritance
will be used.
• The Lutheran Church—Missouri Synod Foundation has developed several
special trusts that can be used in this type of estate planning used quite often
by single individuals to provide a stream of income payments to their heirs and
also to provide a gift to the ministries of their choice.
If you would like some assistance in your gift
planning for any of the aforementioned aspects or would simply
like to learn more, please attend our gift planning seminar on June
25, 2005, 5:30 p.m. Don't miss this opportunity to share new
ideas regarding how to grow in your stewardship.
